SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Spearfish Spartans Boys Soccer team couldn’t overcome a tough defensive setup from the Sturgis Brown Scoopers, falling 4-0 on Thursday night.
Sturgis controlled the pace of the match and struck early, building momentum that carried through the full 80 minutes. Despite Spearfish creating some looks on goal, the Scoopers’ disciplined defensive strategy proved difficult to break down.
“Sturgis did a great job of getting eight defenders back on defense, which made it really tough for us to score,” Spartans Head Coach Jim Hill said after the match.
With the loss, Spearfish moves to 1-8-1 on the season. The Spartans will regroup and continue working to generate more offensive chances as they press forward into the remainder of the schedule.
