SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Spearfish Spartans Girls Soccer team couldn’t carry the momentum from its win over Belle Fourche into Friday’s road matchup against Sioux Falls Christian.
The Chargers shut out the Spartans 5-0 in Sioux Falls, dropping Spearfish to 2-7 on the season.
Spearfish entered the matchup coming off a 3-1 victory over Belle Fourche on Tuesday, when Ashlyn Little scored twice and Gabrielle Ranek added a goal.
Friday presented a different challenge.
Sioux Falls Christian kept the Spartans off the scoreboard while putting five goals on the board to hand Spearfish its seventh loss of the season.
The result moves the Spartans to 2-7 through nine matches as they continue through the second half of their schedule.
Spearfish won’t have to wait long for another opportunity to get back in the win column.
The Spartans will remain on the road when they travel to face Sturgis on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
