SPEARFISH, S.D. (Odrix Sports) — The Spearfish Spartans girls basketball team faced a tough test against Brandon Valley, falling 56-21 despite a determined effort throughout the contest.
The Spartans struggled to find offensive consistency against Brandon Valley’s defensive pressure but continued to compete and look for positives as the postseason nears.
Kate Scharf led Spearfish with eight points, providing a steady presence on the offensive end. Anna Eisenbarth added five points, while Taylor Vitto finished with three. Adelyn Bouman and Tiersyn Grubb each contributed two points, and Finley Bouman added one to round out the Spartans’ scoring.
Spearfish continued to battle defensively and worked to create opportunities, but Brandon Valley capitalized on its chances and maintained control on the scoreboard.
Brandon Valley was led by Alyvia Padgett with a game-high 19 points, while Salter, Kellenberger, and Geiver each added eight points.
The Spartans will look to regroup, clean up execution, and carry lessons from the matchup into their upcoming games as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
