The Spearfish Spartans boys varsity golf team began their fall practice today, marking the first step toward forming the varsity roster. A group of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen took to the course at Spearfish Canyon Golf Club to compete for spots on the team.
The session started with warm-up shots at the driving range before the players tackled all 18 holes. Throughout the round, they worked on various aspects of their game, including driving accuracy, approach shots, short game, and putting. The practice also tested their endurance as they navigated the walking course.
Coach Ligtenberg observed as the players demonstrated both skill and sportsmanship. The sunny weather set the stage for a positive environment where teammates supported one another, offering encouragement and friendly competition.
With the fall season underway, the Spartans are off to a strong start as they work toward building a competitive varsity team.
