SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Spearfish Spartans Boys Soccer Team continued its impressive season with another strong performance at home, defeating Rapid City Central 4-1 at the Black Hills Energy Power Sports Complex.
The victory pushed Spearfish to 8-2-2 on the season as the Spartans continue to build momentum late in the regular season.
Spearfish’s offense delivered four goals against the Cobblers, while the Spartans’ defense kept Rapid City Central from finding enough opportunities to make a run.
The 4-1 result also continued a remarkable turnaround for a Spearfish program that entered the season looking to take a significant step forward following last year’s 3-10-1 campaign.
That step has turned into something much bigger.
At 8-2-2, the Spartans have established themselves as a team capable of consistently producing results, with their combination of offensive production and defense helping Spearfish put together one of its strongest stretches in recent years.
Now the Spartans turn their attention to another Black Hills opponent.
Spearfish will face St. Thomas More on Tuesday, Sept. 29, looking to add another victory as the regular season winds down.
