SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Spearfish Spartans Boys Soccer team came away from Sioux Falls with another result Friday, battling Sioux Falls Christian to a 2-2 draw on the road.
Callan Reede and Brooks Meyer each found the back of the net for Spearfish as the Spartans moved to 5-2-2 on the season.
The draw continues a strong stretch for a Spearfish team that has proven difficult to put away this season.
Playing away from home against the Chargers, the Spartans generated enough offense to put two goals on the board. Reede provided one of those goals, while Meyer added another to help Spearfish secure the draw.
Meyer’s goal adds to an impressive start to the season after he scored twice in Spearfish’s season-opening 2-1 victory over Tea Area, including the game-winner late in the second half.
Friday’s result also comes just days after Spearfish shut out Belle Fourche 3-0, giving the Spartans a win and a draw in their last two matches.
With nine matches now in the books, Spearfish sits at 5-2-2 and will turn its attention back toward Black Hills competition.
The Spartans are scheduled to face Sturgis on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
