SPEARFISH, S.D. — The Spearfish Spartans Girls Wrestling team turned in a strong performance on their home mat Friday, finishing 2nd overall as a team at the Spearfish Girls Invitational on January 3.
It was a full-team effort from start to finish, highlighted by two individual championships and multiple podium finishes across the lineup.
Two Spartans Bring Home Titles
Sisters Candice and Mathilde Matsuda led the way for Spearfish, each winning their bracket in impressive fashion.

Both wrestlers continued their strong seasons with composed and technically sharp performances on the mat.

Spearfish placed wrestlers throughout the standings, which proved key in securing the overall 2nd-place team finish. Several Spartans battled deep into their brackets:
